Ralph Saltzman received his degree at New York University. He founded DesignTex, a leader in the textile manufacture and design market. He continued at the helm after the company became part of the Steelcase Design Partnership in 1988. He retired in 1996. Today, as an art connoisseur and active art collector, he supports a number of cultural organizations, including the Florida Atlantic University and the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach, Florida; and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach, Florida. He and his wife, Muriel, are dedicated members of the Norton and have made possible the Museum's Jodi Saltzman Gallery, in honor of their daughter.
