Julie Rowe

JulieRowe Julie Rowe spent her formative years on her family's farm in Idaho and is the proud product of Group One Peace Corps volunteer parents.  She received a BA in Theatre Arts from Idaho State University and has been a Teaching Artist throughout her career in various venues including public, private, and Montessori schools, camps, and workshops serving children aged 5 to 18.  Julie worked with Camp Broadway in New York City managing a student outreach program dedicated to enabling students to attend Broadway productions at affordable prices, which brought more than 14,000 students to see such productions as The Iceman Cometh, The Price and Amadeus, and produced a seminar series with cast members from each show with such artists as Kevin Spacey, Tony Danza, Robert Sean Leanord, Tim Piggott-Smith, James Naughton and David Suchet.  While a resident of Nashville, Julie was an Adjunct Professor in the Musical Theatre program at Belmont University, an Education Coordinator at Tennessee Repertory Theatre and Project Manager of the Juvenile Justice Theatre Workshop for at-risk teenagers.  Most recently, Julie served as the Director of Education at American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she grew Education Department programming 300% to serve schools, students, at-risk youth, the disabled, the incarcerated, and those in Hospice care.  In 2005, Julie received the Professional Achievement Award for Arts and Humanities from the College of Arts and Sciences from her alma mater, ISU, and is a recipient of the 2005 United Way Tampa Bay Volunteer of the Year Award.  She is a Nashville and Tampa Bay award-winning actress, a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA, the Managing Director of Economic Stimulus Productions, and Vice President of the Board of Trustees for Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project.  Julie is very excited to be a part of the Maltz Jupiter family.

 

Sue Cunniff

Sue Cunniff grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York in the beautiful Hudson River Valley, and later moved to the Albany region of upstate NY, where she was employed in the commercial insurance industry and acquired a NY broker’s license.

With a background in office management, sales and marketing, Sue pursued corporate relocation to sunny Florida and secured her FL agents license to sell and underwrite worldwide yacht insurance.

After arriving in Jupiter, Sue began working nights at the Jupiter Theatre selling tickets and soon joined the dinner theatre full-time as the box office manager with two former production companies.

 

Over the next decade, Sue developed a new career in the interior decorating and furniture business and was the proud owner of Island Interiors in Jupiter. During those years, the community welcomed the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, and when the Conservatory of Performing Arts was established in September 2007, Sue was delighted to return to work at the theatre! 

As administrator for the Conservatory, Sue oversees enrollment and office operations for this entertaining and exciting year-round performing arts school, and serves as liaison to parents, students and faculty.

 

 

 

 

Brian Andrews

BrianAndrews Brian Andrews performed in two of Broadway's longest running shows:  Cats and A Chorus Line.  Early training included the Harkness School of Ballet in NYC.  Continuing education with the Cecchetti Council of America, Mr. Andrews is a certified licentiate instructor in the Cecchetti method of classical ballet, and currently serves as chairman of the Florida committee.
 

Jay Johnson

Jay L. Johnson is originally from Chicago, where he enjoyed a successful 14-year career as a professional actor featured in roles that included Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain, Phaedra in La Cage Aux Folles, Max in Lend Me A Tenor, Young Damsel in Diva Diaries, Will Parker in Oklahoma!, and many more. Staying involved in theatre, Jay moved to New York and joined one of New York's top marketing agencies, where he represented several hit Broadway and Off-Broadway shows such as The Glass Menagerie, Monty Python's Spamalot, Chicago, Altar Boyz and The Phantom of the Opera. Jay has been seen on the Maltz Jupiter Theatre stage in our productions of Evita, Anything Goes and Crazy for You.

 

Kim Cozort Kay

Kim Cozort Kay
received a BM degree in Music Education from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina followed by a Master of Music degree in Music Education from UNC-Greensboro. Kim has been an active member of Actors’ Equity Association since 1986 and the Screen Actors’ Guild since 1992. She has shared the stage with fellow artists June Havoc, Charles Nelson Reilly, Hal Holbrook, and Richard Kind.

Kim has appeared throughout the country with such notable companies as the Coconut Grove Playhouse, Greater Miami Opera, Opera Delaware, Actors’ Theatre/ Charlotte, Peninsula Players, Palm Beach Dramaworks, Caldwell Theatre, Florida Stage, Flat Rock Playhouse, and the Blowing Rock Stage Company. Television credits include The Glades (A & E) and Burn Notice (USA).

Kim is a three-time recipient of the Carbonell Award and was most recently awarded Best Actress Metrolina Theatre Award for her work in the Charlotte-Metro region. She served as an adjunct professor at Appalachian State University in the Hayes School of Music in Boone, North Carolina for 8 years and from 2001 to 2009, was the Education and Outreach Director for the Blowing Rock Stage Company, winner of NC’s Professional Theatre award in 2008.

 

Kenneth Kay

Kenneth Kay made his professional acting debut in 1978. Since that time, he has gone on to produce, direct or act in nearly 250 professional stage productions throughout the southeast and on national tour.

Mr. Kay received a BA in Theatre Arts from the University of West Florida (Pensacola) in 1978 and an MFA in Acting/Directing from Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton) in 1985

He earned his Equity card after completing a one-year professional internship at The Burt Reynolds' Institute for Theatre Training (1981). During his internship he regularly studied with acclaimed teachers/actors Charles Nelson Reilly, Julie Harris, Stuart Vaughan, Jose Quintero, Dom DeLuise and Martin Sheen. He became a member of the Screen Actors' Guild in 1985.

His teaching credentials include adjunct positions at Florida Atlantic University, Appalachian State College and Davidson College. He has conducted his Audition Science Seminar at various theatres and conventions throughout the Southeast.

Mr. Kay is the recipient of four Carbonell Awards for Directing: Biloxi Blues - 1988, Other People's Money - 1990, Little Shop of Horrors - 1997, How I Learned to Drive - 1999.

 

Sarah-Helen Land

Sarah-Helen Land, a soprano with a magna cum laude Master’s degree from the Juilliard School, brings to her vocal instruction at the Maltz Conservatory over 20 years of experience teaching in major opera houses, as well as in other international theatres and institutions.

While her performing career includes roles with the Hawaii Opera Theatre, the San Francisco Opera Conservatory and the Juilliard Opera Center, her work in teaching and education spans the New National Theatre Tokyo, the Chautauqua Institute, and the San Francisco Girls Chorus, the San Francisco Opera, and the Juilliard Opera Center.

Sarah-Helen’s expertise lies in building and nurturing optimal vocal technique while creating a teaching environment that engages and fosters technical prowess by incorporating not just a “whole performance” approach (working with movement, musicality, and acting), but a “whole child” approach, which she defines as using the natural spirit and personality of the child to bring forth a sense of confidence, accomplishment, and community in many aspects of the child’s life. Sarah-Helen is delighted to be in Florida and to be working at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.

 

Anna McNeely

AnnaMcnAnna McNeely, voice and drama instructor, is a 20-year veteran of Broadway.

Her Broadway debut was in Little Johnny Jones with Donny Osmond. She experienced her first long Broadway run in Cats, in which she originated the role of Jennyanydotts staying with the New York Company for almost seven  years. From there she moved directly to "Miss Electra" in Gypsy, starring Tyne Daly. Anna reprised the role of "Miss Electra" in the movie that starred Bette Midler.

Her next Broadway venture was in Disney's original Broadway hit Beauty and the Beast where she performed on the New York stage for nine years. Besides all her accomplishments on stage, for 30 years, Anna has worked with some of the best directors, choreographers and musical directors.

Anna received a B.A. degree in Music from McKendree University in Illinois.

At the Maltz Jupiter Theatre she has performed in The Boyfriend, La Cage aux Folles and Crazy For You.

 

Viky Andreatta Smith

VickySmithViky Andreatta Smith was born and raised in South Africa.  She is trained in many different forms of dance ranging from Ballet to Jazz and Modern to Hip Hop.  Her training involved the Royal Academy of Dance: Elementary to Advanced with Honors as well as Cecchetti.  She danced professionally in South Africa with Ballet Theatre Afrikan, South African Ballet Theater.  In the USA, Viky has performed with various companies and her repertoire includes King Lear, Giselle, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and many more.  Viky loves to share her passion and knowledge for dance and what it brought to her life.
 

Lea Roy

LeaRoyLea Roy was born in Buenos Aires, but grew up in Miami Beach.  She graduated from Florida State University, with a double major in Creative Writing and Theatre.  Her original play, Liberty as a Man, was produced by FSU's Student Theatre Association last April.  She also co-wrote and starred in an original Social Issues Project with FSU Directing Graduate students.  Lea spent the summer of 2009 in St. Petersburg, Florida, as a teaching artist for American Stage Company's Theatre Summer Camp. Lea continues writing plays and is excited about teaching theatre.
 

Kristine DiMartino

Kristine DiMartino is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and an alumnus of Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre and Dillard High School of Performing Arts. She received her theatre degree from Florida School of the Arts and Florida Atlantic University where she studied under Tony award winning Zoe Caldwell playing Pageen Mike in Playboy of the Western World. She has performed with Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival and Lyric Stage, and co-founded the Experimental Theatre Company in Miami.

Her teaching credits include Saratoga Independent School, The Benjamin School, and Southwood Middle School of the Arts - Miami. Kristine also founded South Florida Stage outreach, which established programs for public and Title I schools with creative curriculum and page to stage community outreach. She has received grants from South Florida Writers and Entertainment Association and Saratoga, New York Arts Council.

Most recently, Kristine joined the Healing and Creative Arts team of the Palm Beaches(Abacoa Branch) offering group drama therapy in teen talk, peer pressure, the divorced child, and Nanny 411. She is a member of the National Association for Professional Women (NAPW) and an LMHP intern.
