BEVERLY BLANCHETTE COMES TO THE
MALTZ JUPITER THEATRE!

GUEST WORKSHOP FOR COPA STUDENTS

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA) offers classes in dance, voice, acting and musical theatre. COPA continues to add special guest workshops featuring local and national talent. “Part of our educational process includes teaching students and parents about the business of the arts,” says the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s Director of Education, Judy Gelman, “The audition is a critical part of getting work as an actor, singer or dancer. Therefore, we will offer audition workshops throughout the year. We are pleased to have Beverly Blanchette as part of this series.”

The first audition workshop, on Saturday, September 20th from 2pm – 5pm, features Beverly Blanchette, Dean of the Dreyfoos School of Arts Theatre. This workshop is limited to fifteen students and the fee is $95 to register. The format of the three-hour workshop will offer a question and answer session for parents during the last thirty minutes.

Blanchette will help students learn how to choose the right monologue to showcase their talents, find out how to market themselves for any type of audition and discover the business of the business including everything you need to know about agents, headshots, resumes, cold readings and the slate.

In addition to local experts, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is able to draw from an amazing talent pool that comes from producing professional theatre each season. Past guest workshops have included Ron DeJesus, assistant choreographer to Twyla Tharp, Rodger Hess, the producer of Annie on Broadway and Jackie Bayne, from the Broadway cast of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

As a not-for-profit theatre the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, recognizing the importance of arts education for youth, has made its mission to “entertain, educate and inspire.” COPA offers a challenging, innovative and quality theatre experience to students of every ability and provides professional theatre training as well as tools to develop their imagination and self-esteem.
