NOT JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE OFFICE WITH
HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING
AT THE MALTZ JUPITER THEATRE!

The classic musical extravaganza will be directed by international performer Jo Patrick

May 15, 2014 (Jupiter) – This summer, join the fun with How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and students who are learning from Broadway’s best at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s summer camp programs!

International performer and director Jo Patrick will direct and choreograph the upcoming production of the musical romp How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on June 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. on the Theatre’s stage. Fun for the entire family, tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for children.

The show will star students from the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Performing Arts’ three-week Senior Conservatory summer camp (grades 6-12), in which students learn all aspects of theatre such as acting, dance and voice, culminating in full performances of a musical.

One of the most charming musical shows of our time, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a delightful musical satire of corporate life and office politics, packed with memorable Frank Loesser songs such as “I Believe in You,” “Brotherhood of Man” and “Been a Long Day.” Winner of both a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize for its 1961 debut, the storyline centers on a lowly window washer, J. Pierrepont Finch, and his questionable rise up the corporate ladder to high-powered executive.

How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a classic, not-to-be-missed musical treat,” said Julie Rowe, director of education for the Conservatory. “The storyline is funny and clever, the music is infectious and there will be plenty of high-energy dancing, all under the guidance of a wonderful guest director.

Seen recently onstage at the Theatre in Annie and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jo Patrick is a musical theatre performer, dancer, director and teacher with a career that includes 15 years as a principal dancer with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and five years performing with Celine Dion in the show A New Day in Las Vegas. Patrick has performed throughout the country and in Japan with a leading role in the national tour of Fosse and at numerous regional theatres throughout the country. He's also performed worldwide as a guest entertainer for Princess Cruises.

During camp, Patrick will guide students through the process of auditioning for a Broadway show, a fast-paced rehearsal schedule and the opportunity to showcase all that they’ve learned onstage, complete with costumes, sets, professional lighting and a professional theater orchestra.

“The Senior Conservatory is a wonderful opportunity for local teens to have the chance to experience what it's like to work in professional theatre and perform on that Theatre’s stage in a full musical,” Rowe said. “There’s still time to sign up for camp, and we’d like to encourage local teens to join us this summer at the Conservatory.”

Other exciting camp options for grades K-12 include the upcoming Junior Conservatory for grades K-5 (July 7 – 26), with a full performance of School House Rock Live! Jr. on July 25 and 26; a four-day Magic camp for grades K-5 and a four-day Dinosaurs! Camp for Pre-K students age 4 and 5 (both June 30 – July 3); a one-week Superhero Camp for grades K-5 (July 28 – August 1); a one-week Shark Week! Camp for grades K-5 (August 4 – 8); and three sessions of two-week Dance Intensive Camps for grades 6-12 (June 30 – July 11, July 14 – 25 and July 28 – August 8).

Students will perform How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying June 27 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Theatre. Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for children.
