Properties Manager

Pay: $1000/week, paid bi-weekly. Full-time, year-round

This position at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre is responsible for procuring and building props needed for all Maltz Jupiter Theatre season productions, and other special projects as needed. This role reports to the Director of Production, but also works closely with the Technical Director, Directors and Designers, and other Theatre departments as necessary. The Prop Manager will work out of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Production Center and the main Theatre facility.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintaining the inventory of all of the Theatre’s stock prop items
  • Working with contracted designers to budget, procure, or build props for all shows and special projects
  • Providing rehearsal props per the requests of directors, as needed
  • Working with the Technical Director through preliminary design phases to determine show requirements and delegate responsibilities
  • Coordinating with the Technical Director and production shop staff to schedule builds, allowing for appropriate time usage and space needed to accommodate the carpenters and painters
  • Managing the props budget for each production and special project
  • Attending all technical rehearsals
  • Attending all production meetings
  • Addressing ongoing prop needs, repairs, and replacements during the course of a production
  • Coordinating support on notes throughout a show run with the Stage Supervisor

The Prop Manager will work some weekends and some evenings.

Qualifications: 5 years’ experience working in properties for theatre. BFA preferred.
