STAR OF FOSSE AND CELINE DION'S A NEW DAY
TEACHES WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS
Friday, March 25 (Jupiter, FL) - From the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's hit production Evita, ensemble member, Jo Patrick, will teach a workshop in Bob Fosse's unique movement style on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 4:30 - 6:30pm for the students of the Theatre's Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA). Students will have the opportunity to learn a combination that was featured in the Tony Award-winning musical, Fosse.
Jo Patrick was a principal dancer for the internationally renowned Hubbard Street Dance Chicago for 15 years. He was a featured dancer in the first national tour of Fosse and most recently finished a successful run of A New Day starring Celine Dion at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Bob Fosse's choreography has been featured in many Broadway shows including Cabaret, Chicago and Damn Yankees. He won an unprecedented eight Tony Awards for choreography, as well as one for direction of 1973's Pippin. In 1972 he won the Academy award for direction of the film version of Cabaret.
Jo Patrick will be directing the Maltz Jupiter Theatre's COPA students in West Side Story this summer! The students take rehearsal classes June 8 - 25 through the Conservatory and will perform onstage Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26.
Jo Patrick's workshop, open to students with intermediate or above dance experience, on April 3 from 4:30-6:30pm will be $30. The COPA students will also perform two productions this spring to include Les Miserables (School Edition) on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25 and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9. Both productions will be performed on the Theatre's professional stage beginning at 7:30pm with tickets for adults at $20 and $15 for students.

COPA offers a challenging, innovative and quality theatre experience to students of every ability and provides professional theatre training as well as tools to develop their imagination and self-esteem. COPA students take classes in dance, voice, acting and musical theatre and workshops that feature local and national talent.
