Maltz Jupiter Theatre


Feb. 8, 2011 (Jupiter) – The Maltz Jupiter Theatre has added several new faces to its team, including a Director of Development, a Production Manager and a Director of Public Relations.

“Our three new team members bring more than 65 combined years of experience with Broadway productions, nonprofit development and the media,” said artistic director Andrew Kato. “We are proud to welcome them as part of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre family, and we know that their talents will help our theatre continue to thrive as the largest award-winning regional theatre in South Florida.”

The new team members are as follows:

Kathy Berman – Director of Development
As Director of Development for the Theatre, Berman oversees the fundraising efforts of the Theatre, including individual, foundation, corporate and government support, as well as sponsorship and special events. Her nonprofit development career spans more than 20 years and includes fundraising and consulting for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, New York Theatre Ballet, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, the Dance Notation Bureau, and York Street Project in New York City. She spent nine years as Director of Development for Seaside Music Theater, as well as consulting for The IceHouse Theatre and Athens Theatre.

Clayton Phillips – Production Manager
As Production Manager for the Theatre, Phillips oversees the Theatre’s creative and production values. A 17-year Broadway veteran, Phillips has spent more than 35 years working in theatre, including as a production supervisor, production stage manager, director, producer, artistic director and managing director and occasional actor. As a stage manager and supervisor, he worked on five Tony Award-winning Broadway Shows: Starlight Express, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Candide and Parade. His experience includes directing companies overseas as Harold Princes’ assistant, as well as four national tours and three Off-Broadway productions. He has won numerous awards for his work as an artistic director and director.

Linnea Brown – Director of Public Relations
As Director of Public Relations for the Theatre, Brown works with the local and national media to generate press coverage about the Theatre’s shows and its Conservatory. A public relations professional with more than a decade of experience in the news industry, she writes the theatre’s advisories and manages its social media strategy and efforts. Brown’s prior experience includes five years as a staff reporter at The Tampa Tribune and Hometown News, as well as two years as the senior public relations associate for Kaplan University in Fort Lauderdale.
