The Theatre's hit production, Barnum, inspired the theme for the evening. An over-the-top circus atmosphere with clowns, jugglers and stilt walkers greeted guests. The ballroom at Admirals Cove was transformed; a billowing tent incased tables wrapped in neon pinks, greens and blues topped with oversized centerpieces of popcorn, cotton candy and lions jumping through rings of fire.

Broadway producers and Theatre board members, Bonnie and John Osher were honored with a special performance by the students of the Theatre's Conservatory of Performing Arts (COPA). Drawing on their prolific business, marketing and theatre experience, the Oshers lend their support and vision by serving on the Theatre's Artistic Committee and generating a scholarship program.

Roberta Golub, chairing this successful Gala for the second consecutive year along with a notable committee of forty, exceeded all expectations. Grand auction chairmen were Bel Miller and Leslie Sacks; silent auction chairmen were Susan Johnson and Beth Neuhoff; and decorations were coordinated by Leslie Sacks.

According to Martino: BEEHIVE takes us back to another time in America's history of turbulent change and defining historical events-the 1960's. In this joyful musical, which traces the rise of a generation-defining group of women singers (The Supremes, The Shangri-Las, Leslie Gore, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Janis Joplin among others) we re-live that era as it moves from the infectious innocence of the early 60's girl groups to the life changing events (JFK, Vietnam, civil rights, the women's movement) of the mid-60's. We were forever changed by the events of the 1960's and these trailblazing women were the soundtrack of that generation. I love the show because it rewards the audience in several ways: we get to re-visit this time and enjoy our shared memories (do you remember where you were when you heard the news about JFK?), we get to enjoy once again the music of these trailblazing women, and the audience at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre gets to meet six new female stars - a new generation of amazing female singers who will blow the roof off the Theatre at the rockin' party called BEEHIVE.

According to Kato: This electrifying production is the perfect antidote to the tough times we are all facing. What a great show to escape into!

About the show: Six belting women, a hot six-piece band, 50 outrageous costumes and wigs and 15 cans of hairspray a week can only mean one thing - BEEHIVE, the 60's musical revue is coming! BEEHIVE is a high-energy musical revue tracing the coming of age of women's music through 37 popular hits of the girl groups and solo singers of the 1960's. The Chiffons, The Supremes, Tina Turner, and Aretha Franklin are just some of the 60's pop stars portrayed by the super talented cast. Hear your favorites such as: My Boyfriend's Back, One Fine Day, Where the Boys Are, Downtown, Proud Mary, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman, and Respect.
The original stage presentation of BEEHIVE was first presented in 1985 and ran for over 18 months Off-Broadway at the Village Gate Theatre in New York City.
