Jupiter, Florida (October 7, 2008) – The Maltz Jupiter announces Sleeping Beauty as the kick-off to its Kids Korner Series at the Theatre on Saturday, October 25 at 10:00am, sponsored by Chick-fil-A at the Gardens Mall and the Sharkey Family Charitable Foundation. The Kids Korner Series consists of three high quality live productions for children and families at a reduced cost.

Sleeping Beauty will entertain children and families alike with a sleeping princess, a spellbound prince and more fairies than you can shake a stick at in this clever adaptation. More than one spell is about to be broken by the kiss of this handsome prince! Tickets to Sleeping Beauty are $12 for all seats and will be performed on Saturday, October 25th at 10:00am.

The Kids Korner Series has more to come this season at the Theatre with The Velveteen Rabbit on Saturday, February 28th at 10:00am. This musical adaptation of the tale is set in a nursery that is filled with toys and their dreams of being real. The last in the series, The Three Little Pigs, on Saturday, May 2nd 10:00am is a story of three unique piglets that find themselves “Home Alone” when a certain well-known wolf invites himself over for dinner. This performance is full of singing, dancing and even a rapping Big Bad Wolf!

"As one of the community’s leading cultural organizations, we are pleased to present our Kids Korner Series again this year. With theatre programs cut from many of our schools, it becomes our responsibility to create opportunities for our young theatre-goers to experience the thrill of live theatre," says Maltz Jupiter Theatre’s Artistic Director, Andrew Kato.

The Theatre combines the Kids Korner Series with the Conservatory of Performing Arts by offering a Page to Stage program to the students. This community outreach program is designed for the students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade and is based on children’s story books. Teaching the importance of reading and showing the relationship to theatre acting, these workshops offer an introduction to theatre etiquette, a biography of storytellers and a message about the importance of fairy tales in our lives.

Tickets for all of the Theatre’s season plays, musicals and limited engagements are now on sale! Call the Box Office for more information at (561) 575-2223 or visit us online at www.jupitertheatre.org.
